Free verse follows no strict form; rhyming and meter are completely at the discretion of the poet as are length and number of lines. It is usually unmetered and unrhymed. My poem gives an example of "enjambment" which is quite popular in today's poetry. Unlike most traditional poetry, the lines do not provide "end stops," but rather flow from one to the next, transitioning a thought without stopping in much the same way that we think and day-dream. There are no articles and a picture is painted in words, leaving the reader a lot of personal "room" for interpretation.

cloud lifts slowly, thin
horizontal layers drift
upwards, leave behind fields'
new growth, each blade gilt
mist coalesced: tiny silver orbs
hold, reflect, refract light
magnify, glorify dawn
